Cherokee Ranch & Castle

'Pine and Peaks'
'Pine and Peaks'

The Arts Afield program at Cherokee Ranch & Castle allows small groups of artists to access various locations on the property on selected days.  I painted these pieces there in 2020 and 2021.

Located in Sedalia, Colorado, the land was two separate homesteads in the 1890s. The castle was built in the 1920s.  Tweet Kimball bought the property in 1954, and became a successful and influential cattle rancher.  She set up a foundation to protect the land as a wildlife sanctuary.
