Westcliffe

'Purple Mountains'
'Purple Mountains'

We camped in Westcliffe in 2015, 2019, and twice in 2021.

Westcliffe lies in Colorado's Wet Mountain Valley, with the Sangre de Cristo Range to the west, and the Wet Mountains to the east.

The west row of Grape Creek Campground has unobstructed views of the mountain range out our back window.  I can stand behind our trailer and paint, with any number of different peaks to choose from.  Or, I can walk to the south or north for different views.

We first camped there in 2015 for Alla Prima Westcliffe, sponsored by the Sangres Art Guild.  The paint-out was followed by a show in the Gallery on Arts Hullaballo festival weekend.
