Lilacs in Copper Pot

The sweet aroma of fresh-cut lilacs from my garden graced my studio while painting this still-life.

Still Life Setup

Setup. I put the stem on the table in a small floral water tube to keep it fresh.

Under-painting. Gray-green wash with drawing and shadow areas on top.
